LENT : During this special holy season, we will be working with our kindergarten buddies each Friday to help them understand a bit more about what the Lenten season means. It is a time for personal spiritual growth, and our first project will be helping them to plant tulip bulbs in plastic cups, keeping them next to the windows above their “cubbies”. As they watch their bulb grow on the outside, Mrs. Hippert will be helping them to grow on the “inside”.

We will also help them in making special beaded crosses. For each good, kind and loving deed that they do, they will put a colored bead on their cross. We will be saying the Stations of the Cross with them in church, and praying a “living Rosary” with them in the chapel. Sharing God’s message of love with our buddies is the most important thing that we do!

 

ST. FRANCIS XAVIER NOVENA: On Friday, March 12th, we took a bus to St. John’s Church on Temple St., Worcester, to pray the novena in community. The novena, a nine-day prayer retreat, was started in our classroom on March 4th, and we will say the prayers for nine school days. St. Francis was a missionary who spread the Gospel to the people of India and China.

ST.  PATRICK’S  DAY: On Wednesday, March 17th, we are taking our buddies to lunch at the Parish Center and are serving a good ol’ Irish corned beef and cabbage meal.  Thanks to some of our great Moms, we will all enjoy a wonderful tasty meal and just enjoy spending some fun time together. We will also be bringing a “wee little surprise” along for our buddies…shhhh- it’s a secret.

 

WELCOME:  Our classroom has two new students and we are so happy they are with us (once again). Vikki and Matt have joined us after the February vacation and we look forward to working with our “new” friends.
